G - GOD
God created us to be with Him.
God created us to love Him and enjoy a relationship with Him forever. The Bible says "All things were created by Him and for Him." (Col 1:16)
O - OUR
Our sins separate us from God.
God's Word says "All of us have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23). This statement applies to everyone. We all sin, and ultimately we will stand in Judgment, declared guilty before a holy and perfect God. (Hebrews 9:27)
S - SINS
Sins cannot be removed by good deeds.
You see, there's nothing we can do to get to God. Good works, religion, morality, or philosophy, will not bridge the gap between sinful people and a holy God. God's Word states that "All of our good deeds are like filthy rags before a holy God." (Isaiah 64:6)
But there is Good News. While God is holy and just and must judge sin, He is also loving and merciful and doesn't want to punish us. So God provided the way to restore our relationship with Him.
P - PAYING
Paying the price for sin, Jesus died and rose again.
Jesus lived a perfect life and did many miracles proving He was God. Because of His great love for us, Jesus paid the death penalty for every sin we ever committed. (Romans 5:8)
Jesus not only died for our sins. He was buried and rose again from the grave on the third day. (1 Corinthians 15:3-5, Rom 5:8) And he is the only way to get to God. He said "I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6)
E - EVERYONE
Everyone who trusts in Jesus alone will have eternal life.
And that means anyone! Salvation involves turning to God from sin — that's called repentance — and trusting in Jesus alone for Salvation, receiving Him by faith. (Eph 2:8-9)
Jesus said "Here I am . . . I'm knocking at the door of your heart. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him." (Rev 3:20) It requires faith and a personal invitation, surrendering complete control of your life to Him. God's Word says "To all who received Him to those who believe in His name, He gives the right to become a child of God . . ." (John 1:12) And, "If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved . . ." (Romans 10:9-10)
God promised in His Word . . . "Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved . . ." (Romans 10:13) What you do with Jesus is the most important decision you will ever make. Once you have trusted Him as your Savior and Lord, your life.
L - LIFE
Life with Jesus starts now and lasts forever.
Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, whoever hears these words of mine and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not come into Judgment but has crossed over from death to life." (John 5:24)
