POSITION STRUCTURE AND DETAILS

Reports to: Sr. Director of Communications
Location: Eden Prairie
Hours/week: 12 week internship - 20 hours/week
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Grace is a multi-site, non-denominational church committed to a workplace that equips undergraduates with an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of communication, PR and marketing efforts while working alongside various ministries and departments. The Communications Intern will assist the Communication team throughout the summer as they prep for fall kick-off campaign, providing new ideas as well as support with projects from inception to execution.

  • Work alongside the Sr. Director of Communications to develop a full-scale communication / PR plan for the Fall 2024 campaign.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop digital-specific content.
  • Work closely with the Communications Associate to create new social media opportunities, emphasis on driving engagement.
  • Assist with writing, proofing and editing print and online ministry communications.
  • Constant collaboration with the Communications Project Manager on master schedule, status updates, and follow-up communication.
  • Work alongside ministries on story collection while providing worship arts/communications team input regarding collaboration efforts.

PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS

  • A minimum of 60 college credits from a reputable university.
  • Actively pursuing a college major in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related focus.
  • Experience with social media is important (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube).
  • Graphic design skills and/or video editing ability is highly desired.
  • Actively participate in Grace Church events, ministries and activities as appropriate.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail orientated and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
