POSITION STRUCTURE AND DETAILS
Reports to: Chaska Worship Associate
Location: Chaska Campus
Hours/week: 16 hours/week
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides musical and spiritual leadership and oversight to the Chaska NXT student worship team on Wednesday evenings through a number of duties and responsibilities.
- Lead worship with the student worship team at NXT on Wednesday evenings.
- Train & raise up students to be an active part of the team and to become lead worshippers.
- Plan weekly worship sets for NXT that are God honoring, Christ centered, and Spirit led.
- Lead and facilitate rehearsals and team nights that grow our students spiritually and skillfully on Monday evenings.
- Help with setup and tear down on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
- Build clicks and tracks as needed.
- Schedule team members and plan services on Planning Center Online.
- Prepare ProPresenter slides for Wednesday evenings.
- Print any needed chord charts or lyrics for the team each week.
- Collaborate with EP NXT Worship Associate for worship at camps and retreats as needed.
- Actively participate in the weekly Chaska NXT Experience meetings.
- Provide clear communication with students about services, rehearsals, team nights, cancelations, etc.
- Participate in actively giving and receiving feedback with NXT staff and student worship team.
- Attend and engage in scheduled meetings.
- Have knowledge of and successful experience in the following: reading chord charts and music notation, Nashville number system, building click and tracks, playing with click and tracks in a live setting, memorization of music for live services, basic tech support and understanding of audio needs.
- Ability to work effectively with a team and support/strengthen the mission of the Worship and Production Department.
- Prepare for each rehearsal/service with songs learned and ready to lead.
- Responsible for managing the Chaska NXT Worship Associate position. (In the event of an absence, responsible for coordinating with direct report to find a substitute of equal or greater skill).
- Receive feedback and implement in a timely manner.
- Attend to any other tasks within this role that are assigned by direct and indirect reports.
PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS
- Educational requirements: A minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience required: 1-2 years.
- Intentionally disciple NXT worship team members in their relationship with Jesus.
- Be timely and disciplined in fulfilling the required responsibilities.
- A solid foundation for Christian living built on these building blocks: Bible Reading, Prayer, Worship, Evangelism, Discipleship, and Fellowship.
- Consistent participation in Grace worship services beyond the music portion, including sitting under the teaching of the Word.
- Demonstrate a personal passion to minister to people within the context of the local church.
- Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
- Has a commitment to personal and active participation in the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18-20).
- Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations.
