POSITION STRUCTURE AND DETAILS

Reports to: Director of Junior High Ministry
Location: Eden Prairie Campus
Hours/week: 40 hours a week
FLSA Classification: Exempt

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Female Discipleship Associate will serve in the following responsibilities: 

  • Make disciples through role as a J-High small group leader
  • Intentionally pour into the female small group leaders in NXT J-High for the purposes of value, connection, and equipping
  • Oversee J-High Wednesday Night first impressions (check-in, new students, café, dinner)
  • Organize and Manage NXT J-High small groups in CCB
  • Recruit volunteers (i.e., small group leaders, parent hall monitors, new student welcome team, café, and check-in volunteers).
  • Conduct assessments on the spiritual health and discipleship of each female small group for the purposes of encouragement, evaluation, and sharpening
  • Organize, plan, and execute J-High Events (Lockout, Winter Retreat, Summer Camp) alongside the J-High Director.
  • Build and implement a discipleship pathway for students that reflects the 7 marks of being a disciple of Jesus Christ in collaboration with the other Discipleship Associates and the Directors of NXT.
  • Communicate weekly with parents & volunteers.
  • Serve on the J-High teaching team as necessary.

PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS

  • Educational requirements (Preferred): Received, or in the process of receiving, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Experience required: 2-3 year’s experience in a student ministry leadership role
  • Ability to teach and instruct based on thorough knowledge of the Word of God
  • Successful history of connecting with, teaching and discipling kids, students, volunteers and parents
  • Ability to self-motivate and work independently as well as drive teams
  • Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit
  • Has a commitment to personal and active participation in the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18-20)
  • Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations
  • Consistent attendance and participation in Grace Church and involvement in the life of the church
