POSITION STRUCTURE AND DETAILS

Reports to: Public Safety Manager
Location: Eden Prairie Campus
Hours/week: 20-25 hours/week
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports the development and maintenance of operating policies and protocols for effective management of the Public Safety Team
  • Assists with the coordination, management and scheduling of security for daily operational needs and special events, maintaining security service records for Sunday, holiday and special events, training and certification, equipment and uniform inventory and Public Safety Staff years of service
  • Participates in the design and programing of security systems and assists with program management
  • Receive, review, code and sign off on Public Safety payables and deliver to accounting for payment disbursement
  • Maintain an accounting of department expenditures data to be used in budget projection
  • Provides leadership, under the command of the Public Safety Manager, during perceived and real threats to correctly identify and adjust security and safety posture as needed
  • Supports the Public Safety Manager during incidences to communicate and work with local authorities and agencies to protect the building and guests during resolution
  • Assists with engaging, recruiting, training and scheduling volunteers to meet public safety needs for daily activities and special events
  • Collaborates and communicates with other departments maintaining strong relationships
  • Assists the Public Safety Manager with the annual security and safety audits
  • Assists the Public Safety Manager with office administration and operational functions including responding to voicemails and emails as needed, maintaining the calendar and organizational charts, and scheduling appointments as directed by the Public Safety Manager
  • Prepares training packets and onboarding schedules for new hires
  • Requires the availability to work one to two weekend shifts monthly
  • Other duties as assigned

PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Office management experience preferred
  • Public Safety/Security/Law Enforcement operations knowledge and experience preferred
  • Possesses administrative office and management skills, proficient in data entry, and a working knowledge of Microsoft products and ability to learn internal computer programs
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentially
  • Has demonstrated skills in relating to and working with people, especially volunteers, church staff, the congregation and others within a team environment
  • Requires the physical flexibility to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Requires the ability to lift and/or move 10 to 25 pounds as needed
  • Ability to self-motivate, work independently and motivate volunteers
