Public Safety Administrative Assistant



Reports to: Public Safety Manager

Hours/Week: 15-20 hours

FLSA Classification: Non-exempt


The Public Safety Administrative Assistant will be responsible for the following:

  • Supports the development and maintenance of operating policies and protocols for effective management of the Public Safety Team
  • Assists with the coordination, management and scheduling of security for daily operational needs and special events, maintaining security service records for Sunday/holiday and special events, training and certification, equipment and uniform inventory and Public Safety Staff years of service
  • Participates in the design and programming of security systems and assists with program management
  • Provides leadership, under the command of the Public Safety Manager, during perceived and real threats to correctly identify and adjust security and safety posture as needed
  • Supports the Public Safety Manager during incidences to communicate and work with local authorities and agencies to protect the building and guests during resolution
  • Assists with engaging, recruiting, training and scheduling volunteers to meet public safety needs for daily activities and special events
  • Assists the Public Safety Manager with the annual security and safety audits
  • Assists the Public Safety Manager with office administration and operational functions including responding to voicemails and emails as needed, maintaining the calendar and organizational charts, and scheduling appointments as directed by the Public Safety Manager
  • Prepares training packets and on-boarding schedule for new hires
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Office management experience preferred
  • Possesses administrative office and management skills, proficient in data entry, and a working knowledge of Microsoft products and ability to learn internal computer programs
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentially
  • Has demonstrated skills in relating to and working with people, especially volunteers, church staff, the congregation and others within a team environment
  • Compatibility with the Grace Church Mission, Vision, Values and Priorities and a lifestyle appropriate to a person in Christian ministry
  • The staff member agrees to abide by the staff handbook
  • In agreement with Grace Church’s Statement of Faith
