Hours/Week: 23-25 hours

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Content Associate will be responsible for the following:

  • Create compelling content to be used in weekly emails, website copy, app articles, blog and story posts, and social media posts within a consistent brand voice
  • Engage congregants and staff to gather stories and information to produce written work that promotes connection and spiritual growth through our various communication channels
  • Compose a content calendar for social media and work with designers and photographers to create content 
  • Post social media content and measure engagement with our brand 
  • Monitor and urgently respond to comments and questions as the first point of contact on social media platform
  • Provide content for of all-church electronic communication including the weekly e-newsletters and call-to-action emails
  • Assist church ministries with writing, proofing, and editing of printed and online ministry communication
  • Maintain Grace Church’s brand standards and style guide in collaboration with Director of Communications and Marketing
  • Direct and collaborate with an active roster of volunteers who help with routine and special projects, and effective recruiting, training, scheduling, and oversight of those volunteers
  • Strategize, plan, and improve content delivery and promotion
  • Provide guidelines for the tone, style, and voice of all brand content
  • Create an editorial strategy so that content is consistent and compelling across all delivery streams
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of the brand’s content marketing efforts
  • Other duties as assigned

PROFESSIONAL AND SPIRITUAL EXPECTATIONS

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Business Marketing, Communications, or another related field preferred
  • 2+ successful years of copywriting and editing experience  
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Developed organizational and effective time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, written and verbal
  • Experience publishing content on website or app platforms preferred
  • Experience managing successful social media campaigns, and a solid understanding of social marketing
  • Gifted in discernment and creative communication
  • Displays an attitude of commitment to prayer and specific prayers among volunteers concerning their mission-centric service
  • Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit
  • Has a commitment to personal and active participation in the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18-20)
  • Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations
  • Consistent attendance and participation in Grace Church and involvement in the life of the church
  • Ability to relate to and effectively communicate with Grace staff, volunteers and church attenders
