Position Structure and Details

Reports to:  Human Resources Manager
Hours/week: 20 hours
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 9:00a-1:00pm 
FLSA Classification: Exempt

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide recruitment of various positions to support the staffing needs of the church
  • Manage in-take meetings for new hiring needs with hiring managers in collaboration with the HR Manager
  • Post open job positions on relevant job boards and the Grace Church website
  • Schedule and conduct phone screens and in person interviews
  • Update job descriptions for new and existing positions on an annual basis
  • Conduct reference checks calls for top selected candidates
  • Extend offers of employment and pre-employment items to chosen candidates
  • Maintain communication with candidates during the interview process and deliver decisions once positions have been closed
  • Manage the new hire onboarding process, including preparation, paperwork, compensation agreements, and scheduling welcome orientation items
  • Assist the HR Manager in enhancing and organizing new hire training programs for employee development and assimilation
  • Administer staff recognition programs as directed by the HR Manager
  • Collect employment paperwork and verify I-9 documentation with new hires
  • Serve as the point person for new employee questions
  • Respond to messages in the HR email inbox in a timely manner
  • Schedule and facilitate 60-day and 90-day feedback sessions with all new hires
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external HR requests
  • Administer employment law compliance projects in the workplace in collaboration with the HR Manager
  • Other duties as assigned 

Professional and Spiritual Expectations

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication or Psychology, Human Resources emphasis preferred
  • 1+ years’ in recruitment and new hire orientation experience required
  • Proficient in computer skills: MS Office-Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio. HR Management system experience is a plus
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Ability to manage confidential information with the highest levels of integrity
  • Ability to be available for periodic weekend and evening needs
  • Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit
  • Has a commitment to personal and active participation in the fulfillment of the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 18-20)
  • Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations
