Line Cook


Position Structure and Details

Reports to: Executive Chef
Hours/week: 30 hours
Location: Eden Prairie Campus
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

Key Duties and responsibilities

  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, slicing fruit, or preparing sauces)
  • Answer, report and follow Executive or Sous Chef’s instructions
  • Clean up station and take care of leftover food
  • Stock inventory appropriately
  • Ensure compliance with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand
  • Other duties as assigned

Professional and Spiritual Expectations

  • 1-2+ year’s proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
  • Education: Degree in Culinary arts and Sciences preferable
  • Service Safe Certified and Food Handlers Card preferred, OR obtain within six months upon hire
  • Working knowledge areas: Large Volume Food Service, Health Department standards
  • Ability to work independently on assigned kitchen areas
  • Flexibility for evening and weekend work
  • Exhibits a meaningful and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior as evidenced by the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit
  • Exhibits a lifestyle appropriate to a person in public Christian ministry by conducting life with the utmost integrity in all situations
