Position Structure and Details

Reports to: Banquet Manager 
Hours/week: TBD, Events 
Location: Eden Prairie Campus
FLSA Classification: Non-exempt

Key Duties and responsibilities

The Caterer will be responsible for food and drink service to the chef’s quality specifications and as directed by the Banquet Manager while contributing to overall customer satisfaction.

The Caterer will:

  • Ensure that events are properly equipped and executed by transporting, and pulling necessary items, as well as setting up and breaking down, and returning equipment to designated storages in compliance with banquet standards and instructions
  • Serve meals and beverages to banquet attendees
  • Clean up after each banquet and ensure things are in order
  • Provide a safe and clean work environment
  • Clean, organize and restock product and equipment from all banquet events
  • Understand safety responsibilities as well as environmental laws by following established procedures, policies, training and involvement activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Professional and Spiritual Expectations

  • 1+ year of catering, banquet, or other food service experience preferred
  • Ability to be friendly and courteous in all interactions with customers
  • Ability to run a commercial dishwasher
  • Ability to commit to no less than four events each year
  • Consistent with attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to respond to simple complaints or inquiries from customers
  • In agreement with Grace Church’s Statement of Faith
