I'm Glad You Asked

Ever wonder how to talk with your non-Christian friends about Christianity? Or have you been afraid to talk to your non-Christian friends about Christianity because of the questions or objections that they may have? Do you have questions of your own that are difficult to answer? This class teaches basic Christian apologetics with a two-fold purpose: to help remove intellectual barriers to the Christian faith for seekers and to equip and encourage believers that their faith rests on a firm foundation. Both discover how to talk with your friends about the Christian faith and the answers to your questions.

Cost: $12/person (covers the cost of the book)

Cover-to-Cover Bible Survey

Have you ever wondered what the big picture of the Bible is? Could you summarize the basic message of the Bible as found in Genesis to Revelation or does the Bible seem like a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle with the pieces still in the box without a picture?

Cover-to-Cover Bible Survey puts the pieces of the puzzle together is the story of God from Genesis to Revelation. It is a two-semester, 30-week discipleship journey (15 weeks studying the Old Testament and 15 weeks in the New Testament) where students learn God’s story of redemption through His Son Jesus Christ . . . the scarlet thread of redemption that runs throughout the entire Bible beginning with the first semester: Genesis to Malachi.

Old and New Testaments do not need to be taken in sequential order.

Cost per semester is $149 per person or $249 family maximum for two or more people from the same family. Scholarships are available from Village Schools of the Bible upon request.

This life-transforming discipleship class is taught by foremost teacher and scholar, Dr. Harvey Martin, professor emeritus from University of Northwestern – St. Paul.

Old Testament: Tuesdays, Sep 3 – Dec 10 | 6:30p-8:30p, Eden Prairie Room 211

New Testament: starting Jan 2020

What Did You Expect?: Redeeming the Realities of Marriage

According to Scripture, marriage will always involve two flawed people living with each other in a fallen world. Yet, in Pastor Paul Tripp's professional experience, the majority of couples enter marriage with unrealistic expectations, leaving them unprepared for the day-to-day realities of marriage.

Using Paul Tripp's book, What Did You Expect?: Redeeming the Realities of Marriage, this class will introduce a biblical and practical approach to those realities that is rooted in God's faithfulness and Scripture's teaching on sin and grace.

What Did You Expect? presents six practical commitments that give shape and momentum to such a lifestyle. These commitments, which include honestly facing sin, weakness, and failure; willingness to change; and embodying Christ's love, will equip couples to develop a thriving, grace-based marriage in all circumstances and seasons of their relationship.

The group will watch a DVD each week and follow it with a group discussion. All are welcome!

Cost: $10 per book

Precepts:  Covenant and 1 and 2 Timothy

Covenant: See this incredible thread running from Genesis through Revelation. God enters into a binding agreement with His people and always keeps His promises. Trusting Him as a covenant partner frees us from the bondage of worry and anxiety.

1 and 2 Timothy: 1 Timothy contains some doctrine, but also very practical instructions for how people in the church are to live. In 2 Timothy, we see that Paul entrusted the Gospel to Timothy and others. Are you guarding the treasure of the Word that has been entrusted to you?

Note: Precept studies are in-depth studies that teach you how to study God's Word by making observations, interpretation, and application for life change. Precepts is an inductive, rigorous Bible study that requires a commitment to attend the weekly class and involves 60 minutes/day homework.

Format: video and live teaching.
