At-Risk Outreach

Our Children-at-Risk Ministry, also known as OneLess, provides opportunities to care for at-risk children. Not everyone is called to host, foster, or adopt, but you can impact a child’s life through mentoring, respite nights, and summer camp.

Aspire Mentoring Program

Mentor at-risk children from unstable homes or in the foster care system, ages 5-12. Our goal is to come alongside at-risk children, point them to Christ, and guide them into healthy futures and relationships. Mentors must be 18 and older. Mentoring involves:

  • Completing the application, background check, interview, and training
  • Meeting 2x/month with your mentee for a minimum of one year
  • Engaging in monthly check-ups with your Mentor Coach
  • Participating in periodic ongoing training

Interested in becoming a mentor? Complete the At-Risk Youth Mentor Application.

Royal Family Kids Camp

The primary purpose of Royal Family Kids Camp is to give children, ages 6-12, who are in foster care, a week of positive memories and royal treatment in a Christian camp environment. Each child that attends Royal Family Kids Camp will receive attention and encouragement from an adult camp counselor (i.e., his/her “buddy camper”). In addition, each camper is also exposed to a variety of fun activities where they learn more about their Heavenly Father’s love and care for them. For most children, it’s the best week of the year — a special time when they can focus on having fun and enjoy being a kid.
Team member opportunities include:

  • 1:1 Camp Counselor
  • Support Staff
  • Craft Leader
  • Licensed Nurse
  • Licensed Social Worker

Respite Nights

We provide up to four respite nights per year for host, foster, and adoptive families. Our goal is to host an incredibly fun and safe night for kids while their parents enjoy an evening out. Volunteers are crucial to making these nights a success. Opportunities to serve include helping with crafts, games, gym time, a movie, and more. These events are a beautiful opportunity to love and affirm children who have experienced trauma.
